Pendergrass Library is open to both the University of Tennessee academic community and the public. Its collections include information on agriculture, animal care, consumer sciences, cooking, gardening, and more. Patrons may browse our collection digitally through our catalog or by visiting the library. Patrons must be affiliated with UT or be a member of the Library Society of UT Knoxville to circulate materials directly. Other patrons must use interlibrary loan services available at local public libraries. Interlibrary Services can provide more information about coordinating interlibrary loan requests.
Resources in Our Collection
Patrons may use this ready reference resource to quickly identify the subject areas within our main collection by Library of Congress Classification (LCC).
Pendergrass is a state depository library for agriculture publications. In keeping with Government Printing Office (GPO) guidelines, we maintain specific collections from federal, state, and local authorities.
We maintain a separate collection of soil surveys from counties across Tennessee and other states in addition to our depository collection. This collection formerly included survey maps, but these were transferred to Map Services. Please visit our library guide or contact us for more information.
Trace (Tennessee Research and Creative Exchange) is UT’s open access digital repository for the creative and scholarly works of its academic, administrative, and research communities. We are an active contributor to the Trace collection and are currently uploading annual reports, research reports, and bulletins from Agriculture Research (formerly Agriculture Experiment Station), as well as miscellaneous historical papers from UT’s Institute of Agriculture (UTIA).
Pendergrass Library is continually improving and reviewing its collection. Please visit this page for our collection development values.
