Call for Submissions

When?

Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, April 8
Artworks selected in the fall will be installed in December and remain on view through the spring Semester
Artworks selected in the spring will be installed in May and remain on view through the Fall Semester


Who?

The juried exhibition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville


What?

All 2-dimensional works including drawing, graphic design, printmaking, photography, ceramics or painting
Create something specifically for us or use a piece you have already completed

Our Student Art in the Library exhibit space in the Hodges Library Reference room

How?

Email submission information to artinlibrary@utk.edu

Please include:

  • Artist name and complete contact information
  • For each piece submitted (Up to 3 pieces): Title of work, dimensions and medium
  • Attach digital image of each work (jpg, gif or png only)

Who decides?

Artwork will be selected by the Student Art in the Library Committee. The Committee exercises curatorial discretion and will determine if the artwork submitted is appropriate for the library setting.

Selected artwork must be ready to install when delivered to Hodges Library. Work on paper must be framed or securely mounted. Stretched canvases do not need to be framed. The UT Libraries' hanging system permits some flexibility in height and positioning of artwork. No additional hooks, nails, or other fasteners will be attached to the walls of the Library. Nothing may be glued or fastened directly to the Library's walls.
