Wednesday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. – Bobbie Ann Mason
In Mason’s new novel of war and loss, The Girl in the Blue Beret, a WWII pilot returns to the site of his B-17 crash in search of the girl who led him to safety.

Friday, September 21 – Undergraduate Showcase (during Family Weekend) Outstanding UT student writers Andrew McNeil Hamilton, Marissa Landis, Rachael MacLean, and Taria Person will read from their works. RB Morris will provide musical entertainment.

October 8 – Alice Friman
Award-winning poet Alice Friman writes about Jewish identity and family life, among other topics. [In addition to the 7 p.m. reading, there will be an Author Chat with Alice Friman, 3-4 p.m., in 1210-1211 McClung Tower.]

October 15 – Natalie Bakopoulos
Natalie Bakopoulos’s The Green Shore paints a finely-etched portrait of one family set against the backdrop of the late 1960s Greek military dictatorship.

October 29 – Adam Johnson
Adam Johnson will be reading from his acclaimed new novel, The Orphan Master’s Son, set in North Korea.

October 31 – Adam Zagajewski
A survivor himself of history’s nightmares, Adam Zagajewski is now one of the best known and well-respected poets both in Europe and in America. One of his poems, “Try to Praise the Mutilated World,” became a touchstone after 9/11.

November 12 – David Madden
David Madden chronicles interwoven stories of abduction, murder, and pagan rituals in his new novel, London Bridge in Plague and Fire.
