Welcome Back!  Top 7 Things Pendergrass Can Do for You this Semester

Pendergrass Library welcomes you back to a new semester! We hope you’ll stop by and see us in our temporary location in Brehm 243, and check out our FAQ for updates on the library’s reopening.

Here are a few things Pendergrass can do for you:

1. We help you with research.

Are you overwhelmed by too much information? A librarian can help you develop your search strategies, find sources, and evaluate them. We help with publishing, too!

2. We get you the books you need.

Library Express delivers books from Hodges Library to Pendergrass. Use Interlibrary Loan to get books we don’t have (and to get books in our collection while the normal library location is closed).

3. We provide online access to tons of resources.

Go to our website to access thousands of e-books and e-journals on and off campus. Don’t know where to start? Try one of our Research Guides.

4. We help you with citations.

It’s easy to organize sources and generate bibliographies with citation management programs like Endnote and Zotero. We’ll help you get set up!

5. We provide lots of tech.

Visit our computer lab for the latest hardware and software. Borrow equipment like laptops, chargers, and cameras. Print posters for conferences and events. And ask about our new 3D printer!

6. We’re a great place to study.

Brehm 243 has computer workstations and a group study table. The normal library location has group study rooms, a practice presentation room, and a lot of quiet space.

7. We offer academic support, too.

The Writing Center is in Brehm 243 Wednesdays 12-2pm. Statistical consultants are in Brehm 363 Mondays and Thursdays 1-5pm by appointment. Tutoring in biology, chemistry, and other subjects starts mid-September.

  • Saturday Closed

Learn to Manage your Citations: FREE Endnote Training!

Once you have found sources for a research paper, how do you keep track of them all? Endnote is a citation management program that helps you organize your sources and generate citations.

Endnote is FREE for all UT students, and UT Libraries is offering two FREE “Intro to Endnote” sessions this semester. Learn some tips and tricks to become an Endnote pro at one of these sessions:

  • Thursday, September 10, 3:30-5 p.m. in Hodges Room 211
  • Wednesday, October 7, 3:30-5 p.m. in Hodges 211

Please email endnote@utk.edu before the session to register.

Can’t attend the sessions? No problem! Email endnote@utk.edu to schedule a group training, find webinars online, or visit the UT Libraries Endnote guide.
