All students can have books delivered between Hodges Library and branch libraries.  Graduate students can also have books delivered to departmental offices.

Academic Support

Subject librarians

Meet with our subject librarians for assistance at any stage of the research process.  Subject librarians can help you identify and locate reliable sources, develop effective search strategies for drawing additional information from sources you have found, or assist you in evaluating the reliability of those sources.

Subject area tutoring

Tutoring is available during fall and spring semesters on Wednesdays from 5-8 p.m. and Sundays from 3-6 p.m. in Study Room E.  Walk-in or sign up with a tutor through MyUTK.  Tutors are available in the following classes:

  • Animal Science 220, 330
  • Biology 150, 160
  • Chemistry 120, 130
  • Physics 221, 222
  • Spanish 112, 150, 212, 223 (all 100- and 200-level Spanish welcome)

Additional academic support resources include campus-wide tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, and textbook loans.

Statistical consultations

Need help with project planning, data sampling, data analysis, testing, software, or presentation?  OIT Research Support offers statistical consultations in Pendergrass Library weekdays by appointment.  Call the OIT Helpdesk at (865) 974-9900 to schedule an appointment.  The first 15 hours each semester are free!

Writing help

Check out the Libraries’ Citation Guide for help citing sources, and Endnote or Zotero or Mendeley for managing your citations.  Visit the Writing Center for free and individualized help throughout the writing process.

Wellness Activities

Ag Campus Meditation Group

The Ag Campus Meditation Group meets in Pendergrass Study Room G every Wednesday from 12-1 p.m. and Friday from 7:30-8 a.m.  This supportive community is open to all UT students, faculty, and staff, both beginners and advanced practitioners.  Join the Facebook group for updates and visit the Meditation and Mindfulness Guide for take-home practice.

De-Stress for Success

Every semester during Finals Week, UT Libraries hosts De-Stress for Success events.  Enjoy massages, therapy dogs, snacks, giveaways, and more!

Library Take Out

CASNR and CVM student organizations, jump start your next club meeting with Library Take Out!  A librarian can come to your meeting and offer library instruction, research support, or a special program or discussion.
