During the summer break, you may want to check out the Lynda.com library. Lynda.com is a suite of online courses freely available to UT faculty and students.

Instructional videos cover topics such as graphic design, databases and programming, video editing software, productivity habits, business leadership, and more.

The Lynda.com library is available online 24/7 from computers, iPhones, iPads Android devices, and other smart phones and devices.

The Subject Librarian: A Partner in Research

Your subject librarian, a partner in research

Whether planning new research or getting ready to publish research findings, librarians at UT can assist at any step of the way. UT Libraries’ Research Cycle can help demystify when and how a librarian can assist with research, publishing, and managing a scholarly profile.

Librarians at UT are always here to assist with finding resources such as articles and data. UT Libraries also has librarians who specialize in data management plans, media production, scholarly publishing, and archiving data and articles.

Check out the Scholars Collaborative for more information about how UT Librarians can keep researchers engaged in current and emerging forms of scholarship.

Video Streaming Services at UT

Streaming Video Logos

Showing educational videos in class is often a great supplement to other classroom projects and activities. UT Libraries makes it easy to stream educational videos in or outside of class through a variety of platforms, including Films on Demand, Kanopy, and Academic Video Online.

A majority of films from these vendors include captioning and searchable transcripts, which is a great feature for meeting educational accessibility needs of all students. Learn more about accessibility and student success from UT Accessibility.

UT Libraries’ OneSearch tool can search for streaming videos. Find streaming videos produced by reputable sources such as National Geographic, PBS, BBC, The Great Courses, Films for the Humanities and Sciences, and TED.

Instructors can link directly to a streaming video in Blackboard, share video clips related to course material, or create a playlist of streaming video for students to watch. Video streaming services are available on and off campus.

Contact Steven Milewski (smilewsk@utk.edu) for more information about streaming video services at UT.
