I read this book in elementary school, but it has been impactful throughout my life. In the book, author Gary Paulsen discusses a tool that had been given to him by his mother which became the most important tool to assure his survival. Understanding that perseverance is key to surviving challenges is a fundamental lesson from this book, which impacts my life and career to this day. I keep this book on my nightstand to remind me of this message daily.
