Recalling Items
If an item that you need is checked out, you may place a Recall on that item. A Recall changes the due date from the original due date to 10 days from the day the item is recalled. For example, if a book is recalled on September 10th, it will be due on September 20th.
If you place a Recall on an item, UT Libraries will notify you via email when the item becomes available.
To Recall a book, contact any of our libraries or use the Request link in the UT Libraries catalog.
Receiving a UT Libraries Recall Notice
If someone requests an item you have checked out, a Recall Notice will be issued to you via email. The original due date will be changed to 10 days from the issuance of the Recall.
If the item is not returned by the new due date, your library account will be blocked and a fifty cents per day fine will accrue on each recalled item.
You may place a Recall on the item when you return it. This will limit the loan period of the person who requested it to 7 days from the date they pick up the item.
