BIG IDEAS demand reliable information. The University Libraries supports scholarship, research, and learning at UT by acquiring, organizing, preserving, and facilitating access to the world’s knowledge. The wide-ranging expertise of our librarians might surprise you.

As student success librarian for undergraduate user experience, Anna Sandelli implements library instruction, programs, and services that inspire learning and engagement for upper-division, graduate, and special student populations.

Partnering with other campus units that foster student success, Anna helps diverse student populations adjust to life at a four-year research university. Her strategy is to introduce undergraduates to scholarly resources while encouraging students’ ongoing interaction with the libraries. She is the Libraries’ liaison to transfer students and to UT’s service-learning initiatives. She sees the library as an essential partner in campus initiatives to enhance the educational experience for all students.

The position of student success librarian for undergraduate user experience is new to the UT Libraries. Anna looks forward to investigating students’ unique needs and assessing the library’s effectiveness in meeting those needs. In this position, Anna serves as liaison to other librarians to develop engagement programs for upper division and graduate students.

Anna coordinates the Dean’s Student Advisory Committee, which meets regularly with the Dean of Libraries to provide student feedback on library resources and services.

As subject librarian for Communication Studies 210 and 240, she provides research consultations and information literacy instruction for classes in Public Speaking and Business/Professional Communication. Anna is also part of the undergraduate instruction team and provides general education library sessions.

Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and a master’s degree in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
