Tailgate Party, October 3
Join the faculty and staff of the UT Libraries to cheer on the Vols at our annual Tailgate Party. Picnic food and camaraderie will be shared as we root for a victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks. The party will take place in the John C. Hodges Library staff room overlooking Neyland Stadium. Party begins three hours before kickoff on October 3, 2015.


Sam Venable, October 15
The University of Tennessee Libraries now holds humorist Sam Venable’s papers. We invite you to celebrate with us. Sam will offer remarks. (Oh, boy, will he make remarks...) Join us Thursday, October 15, 2015—reception at 5:30, lecture at 6:30 in the John C. Hodges Library.

A Relief Map of Tennessee

A ten-foot-long plaster relief map of Tennessee, created in 1897, recently received conservation treatment and is once again on display in the Hodges Library. The beautifully restored relief map is dedicated to the Mallicote family in celebration of their many contributions to the libraries and the university.

Difficult Conversations
The UT Libraries’ Diversity Committee reaches out to engage students in conversations on difficult topics. The September Lunch and Learn was about promoting civility on campus. Bullying and social media will be the October topic. Our thought-provoking conversations are open to all.
