Films on Demand Veterinary Collection Includes 248 Videos

What is the Veterinary Streaming Video Collection?

People who work in veterinary medicine frequently rely on what they see to diagnose problems and make snap decisions.  The Films on Demand Veterinary Collection of 248 streaming videos brings a much needed visual component to veterinary students’ lessons, facilitating learning in often subtle ways textbooks alone cannot.

How to Access and Use the Collection

Access the videos through OneSearch or the library database menu.

The Films on Demand platform allows faculty to include content from the collection on Canvas.  Other features include creating playlists from the content.

Which Topics Do the Videos Cover?

  • Animal anatomy and physiology
  • Animal behavior and learning
  • Animal health, nutrition, and disease
  • Basic veterinary skills
  • The veterinary workplace
  • Veterinary treatments and procedures

The videos come mostly from Animal Care Technologies.

How We Got the Collection:

In January 2017 Pendergrass Library set up a trial of the Veterinary Collection distributed by Films on Demand, a platform we already use for academic videos in other subjects.

All the comments were positive, so we paid the subscription fee and will try the collection for a year.  Thanks to all who offered feedback on this resource!
