New Tracks added to Music Online

There is BIG news about a release to our streaming music collections in Music Online: Listening. Released were nearly 400,000 tracks/17,000+ albums of new music to a number of databases.

New music includes:

JAZZ MUSIC LIBRARY
4,654 albums (61,796 tracks) from a wide variety of genres and labels, including Storyville Records, JSP Records, Montreux Jazz, Jazz Unlimited, and many more. Newly released artists and ensembles include Frank Sinatra, Django Rheinhardt, Glenn Miller, Mary Lou Williams, Dexter Gordon, Lionel Hampton, Chucho Valdés, Lena Horne, Rossana Casale, Fats Waller, The Peter Brötzmann Octet, Fletcher Henderson & His Orchestra, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Bunny Berigan, Dean Martin, The N.Y. Also released are 139,626 additional tracks of popular music into the Music Online cross-search. These tracks are ONLY available through the Music Online portal. In early January access to this material will be rolling out, and another more robust post on the content will be posted once it’s enabled. When it is enabled you will access the new tracks through the Music Online portal.

FINALLY, in late January more material will be released into Classical Music Library.
With this release Music Online now equals:

24,300 scores (399,098 pages)

As you can see, this was a massive release – the biggest content release ever. Alexander Street Press has been working on changes to enable processing this amount of material since early last year.
