On behalf of Make Orange Green, the UT Outdoor Program and Knoxville Regional Transportation Planning Organization, I am pleased to announce that the first-ever UT Bike Day will be held on Wednesday, September 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Intended to raise awareness about the many benefits of bicycling, this event will feature fun yet informative activities including bike rides to local attractions, tricycle races and pedal-powered smoothies during lunchtime.
Additional highlights of UT Bike Day include:
FREE Breakfast and Massages for Bicycle Commuters – Pedestrian Walkway, 7:30-11:00 a.m.
Show up on a bike from 7:30-10:00 a.m. and treat yourself to something to eat! FREE two-minute massages will be provided to bicyclists from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Bike Commuting 101 Presentation – University Center 227, 12:15-12:45 p.m.
Considering trading in your parking pass for a bike lock? This 30-minute presentation will cover topics like route selection, carrying gear, dressing for the weather, and much more!
