Description

Would you like to help make the research the University of Tennessee creates more accessible, useful, and open? The Data and Digital Scholarship Services & Research Impact & Open Access units seek an enthusiastic and collaborative graduate student to join our team for the summer.

We offer a flexible schedule.

Term of employment: ASAP – August 19th 2024 (This is meant to be a summer position, but you can start sooner if you prefer)

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate to answer questions from patrons
  • Upload documents to Tennessee Research and Creative Exchange (TRACE) TRACE for preservation and archiving
  • Update web resources and LibGuides related to copyright, intellectual property, publishing models, scholarly visibility, and related topics
  • Help to develop and distribute promotional materials and web resources
  • Maintain and develop documentation and training materials
  • Participate in meetings, programs, and events at the library and campus levels
  • Participate in data gathering (including literature reviews) and analysis, provide support for developing services, and collaborating with internal partners
  • Assist with the maintenance of our digital repository TRACE

Required Qualifications

  • Student at UT Knoxville
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong customer service ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Comfortable working with computers and various software programs
  • Willingness to learn new topics and software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service
  • Interest in open educational resources and/or scholarly publishing
