I have found many of Asimov's books to be very interesting and ahead of their time. Particularly how he thought not only of how technology could progress but also how humanity would respond and adapt. The "Foundation" book series had a big influence on how I view science and technology as not only tools for understanding the universe but also as yet another way that human society manifests itself through its own creations.
