Student Art in the Library


The Student Art in the Library program began in 2005. The juried exhibition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. All 2-dimensional works will be considered. Two exhibits are held each year, in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The exhibitions are on view in the Reference room 135 on the first floor of Hodges Library.

The artwork is selected by the Art in the Library Committee.

Previous Exhibits:

Mission Statement: Hodges Library serves as a center for learning and cultural enrichment for the University of Tennessee community. The exhibition area in the Reference Room creates an area of visual interest, encourages artistic appreciation and provides a venue for our students to display their artwork.

Notice: The UT Libraries does not assume responsibility for loss, theft or damage to any items being exhibited or displayed. The  UT Libraries does not insure any exhibits. All items placed in the library are done so at the owner’s risk. The exhibitor assumes full responsibility for loss or damage to art works being exhibited or displayed in Hodges  Library.  Unclaimed art becomes property of UT Libraries after 6 months.
The UT Libraries does not engage in sales or referral for sales.
