Overview of Services

The University Libraries provide library services to UTK distance education students, faculty teaching distance education classes, extension agents, and agricultural research agents across the state.

Students may request research assistance or help using the libraries' resources. Students may also request books and copies of journal articles using ILLiad.

  • Visit the UT Libraries' Databases (for articles).
  • Check the UT Libraries' catalog (for books).
  • Check WorldCat - a catalog of materials in libraries worldwide.

Independent Study Students

Students enrolled only in independent study classes are not eligible for Distance Education Library Services. Here is a page with resources that are open for you to use: http://www.lib.utk.edu/offcamp/indstudy.html

We are not able to provide proctoring services here at the library. You can call 1-800-670-8657 or 865-974-5134 (UT's Department of Distance Education and Independent Study) to inquire about proctoring services.
