McKenna Cox

McKenna Cox was born in Chicago, IL but grew up in Maryville, TN. She has two younger brothers and a baby sister and is the proud aunt of two young nephews.

She graduated magna cum laude from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC in 1999 with a Bachelor's in English, Spanish, and Latin America Studies. While at Wofford, she met her husband, Rucht Lilavivat. They were married in 2001 in Maryville and in Bangkok, Thailand.

She earned her Master's Degree in Romance Languages from the University of NC, Chapel Hill in 2002. McKenna then received her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in May, 2005. She accepted a position at Legal Aid of East Tennessee in Johnson City where she lives today with her husband, two beagles, and her rabbit, Mopsy.

She is on the Board of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, sings soprano in the Johnson City Civic Chorale, and enjoys playing the piano and reading mysteries.
