Music Library Reserve- Student Information
The Music Library Course Reserve Service is a partnership between faculty and the Music Library designed to benefit students by providing convenient access to non-textbook course materials. Library reserves shorten the amount of time an item may be used by an individual student, making scarce copies of supplementary materials available to most or all of the students in a class.
This page should answer all your questions regarding the Music Library’s Reserve service. However, feel free to contact Connie Steigenga (4-9946) at willow1@utk.edu with any concerns or questions you might have.
What is on Reserve?
- Most circulating Library holdings such as books, scores, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, and videos may be placed on reserve. In addition to these items, professors may place their own personal materials on reserve.
- As well as physical items, a variety of digitized items can be made available online using the reserve service. Possibilities include articles, book chapters, segments of a score, recordings of individual songs, and recordings from audio databases such as Smithsonian Global Sound and Classical.com.
- Also, links to course web pages may be provided in the Reserve system.
