General Purpose
To support instruction, study, and research at B.S., M.B.A., and Ph.D.
levels in Business Administration; M.S. and Ph.D. levels in Management Science;
and M.S. and Ph.D. levels in an intercollegiate program in Industrial and
Organizational Psychology.
Subject Description
The program emphasizes the following areas: operations research/management
science, strategic management, industrial and organizational psychology, human
resource management, international management, and environmental management.
Overlap with Other Subjects
Management overlaps with psychology, computer science, mathematics,
industrial engineering, retailing and consumer science, and all departments
within the College of Business Administration.
Languages Collected and Excluded
Primarily English language materials are collected.
Geographic Parameters
Publications from the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Western
Europe are primarily collected. Other areas are considered selectively.
Chronological Scope
Emphasis is on current research, although classic texts are added
selectively.
Dates of Publication
Current publications are primarily collected.
Retrospective Acquisitions
Retrospective collecting is very limited and performed only under special
circumstances.
Types of Materials Collected and Excluded
All types of materials are collected, but the emphasis is on advanced
texts, scholarly monographs, and research publications and journals.
Formats of Materials Collected and Excluded
In addition to all print formats, audiovisual materials are collected.
Cooperation with Other Libraries
No formal cooperative collection development agreements are in place.
Alternative Access to Resources
Interlibrary loan is a source of materials not in the UT collection.
