The department emphasizes the following subject areas: corporate financial
management, security analysis and investments, banking and financial
institutions, and real estate investments.
Overlap with Other Subjects
Finance overlaps with mathematics, computer science and all of the subjects
taught in the College of Business Administration.
Languages Collected and Excluded
Primarily English language materials are collected.
Geographic Parameters
Publications from the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Western
Europe are collected.
Chronological Scope
Emphasis is on current research. Historical data are added selectively.
Dates of Publication
Current publications are primarily collected.
Retrospective Acquisitions
Retrospective collecting is performed only under special circumstances.
Types of Materials Collected and Excluded
Emphasis is on advanced texts, scholarly monographs, and research
publications and journals.
Formats of Materials Collected and Excluded
Corporate financial data, economic and financial statistics, research data
and reports in print, microformat, computer tape, and other electronic media are
primarily collected. Loose-leaf services for current financial data are added
secondarily.
Cooperation with Other Libraries
No formal cooperative collection development agreements are in place.
Alternative Access to Resources
Interlibrary loan is a source of materials not in the UT collection.
