The program emphasizes artificial intelligence, software engineering, scientific
computing, computer architecture, algorithms and computability, and image and pattern analysis.

Computer Science overlaps with electrical & computer engineering, mathematics, information science, and bioinformatics.

English is the primary language of the collection.

Materials are primarily collected from the United States and Europe. Other
areas are considered selectively.

Emphasis is on current research.

Mainly current publications are acquired for the collection.
Retrospective Acquisitions
Not much emphasis is placed on retrospective acquisitions. However,
exceptions are made under special circumstances.
Type of Materials Collected and Excluded
All types of materials are collected with emphasis on scholarly monographs and journals. Conference proceedings, technical reports, and programming handbooks are selectively collected.

Cooperation With Other Libraries
No formal cooperative collection development agreements are in place.
Alternative Access to Resources
Interlibrary loan is a source of materials not in the UT collection. The
Computer Science department maintains a reading room.
