Commons Loaner Laptops and Equipment
Loaner Laptops are available at the Commons Desk and Second Floor Circulation Desk in Hodges and at the AgVetMed and Music Libraries.
- Laptops may be checked out at the Commons Desk to
any University of Tennessee student with a valid UT ID,
library fines of less than $5.00 and no overdue recalls
on their library record.
- Loaner laptops are for use anywhere on
the UT campus you can access the
wireless network. The
4 hour loan laptops will not work
unless connected to the wireless network.
- Most laptops are loaned for a period of four hours. Circulation and AgVet Med
provides 24 hour laptops. Laptops
may be checked out again if no one is waiting.
- Overdue fines will be assessed at a rate of $.25 cents per hour
for an overdue laptop.
- Laptops are loaned with a power cord and adapter that
must be returned along with the laptop.
- Commons Laptops cannot be reserved in advance. In times of high
demand, a waiting list will be used.
- You may be held liable for replacement charges for lost
or damaged equipment.
- Your student technology fee provides this service. Please
be careful with the laptop in your custody. Do not leave
it unattended.

Loss of equipment may result in paying the following replacement costs:
- Canon Scanner: $ 75.00
- Computer Mouse: $ 15.00
- Floppy Drive: $ 40.00
- 24 Hour Laptop: $ 1200.00
- Headphones: $ 20.00
- Loaner Laptop: $ 1200.00
- Zip Drive: $ 100.00
