Online access to Current Protocols may be the best reason yet to have a computer near your lab bench. These detailed manuals provide step-by-step annotated instructions for laboratory procedures and also feature comprehensive lists of required materials, critical parameters, allotted time and safety considerations. Protocols are contributed by top researchers in their respective fields. These publications are updated quarterly to reflect the changing needs of the scientific research community. Online access enables the protocols to be shared by many laboratories across campus. The UT Libraries recently subscribed to the online versions of four Current Protocols titles:

            Current Protocols in Cell Biology
Current Protocols in Food Analytical Chemistry
            Current Protocols in Molecular Biology
            Current Protocols in Protein Science

A tutorial covering the use of Current Protocols is available from the help screen after you open one of the Current Protocols titles (click "CP Help" near the top of your screen). To search for a particular protocol, choose one or more of the four titles above and enter your terms in the search box. Be aware that if you search all the available titles, you will retrieve protocols for which we do not have a subscription and you will not be able to access them.
