AMICO (Art Museum Image Consortium) is a unique collaboration of art-collecting institutions providing a growing online collection of high-quality, digital documentation of a broad range of artworks from around the world. Images, text and multimedia represent works of art from over 30 leading art museums.

Over 100,00 images highlight the creative output of varied cultures, from prehistoric to contemporary times, covering the complete range of expressive forms, including paintings, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, photographs, installations, ethnographic objects, decorative arts, books and architecture. Documentation may also contain curatorial commentary, detailed provenance information, multiple views or details, sound, video, or other related multimedia.

All content in the AMICO Library is rights cleared for educational purposes including use in student or faculty papers and presentations, and in class lectures or assignments.

The images can be searched by title, artist, culture, period or style, date range, subject, owning institution, type or specific material. Thumbnail images appear on a brief display with an option to view a larger version of the image and full descriptive data. Images and text can be downloaded, printed, made into slides, or used directly from the image base. Search results can be stored in individual Notebooks with your user name and assigned password.

AMICO may be accessed via the database menu under Art & Architecture or Image Collections. Off-campus searching is available to currently enrolled students, faculty and staff with NetID and password.
