About Us
Technical Services & Digital Access is located in rooms 306, 326, and 339 of John C. Hodges
Library and consists of four primary units: Acquisitions, Cataloging, Digital Access, and Serials.
These units order, receive, pay for, and catalog all library materials for the University of
Tennessee Libraries at Knoxville.
Technical Support provides computer support for the team.
JoAnne Deeken is the Head of Technical Services & Digital Access and represents the team on
Library Management Group.
TS&DA strives to provide the UTK Library community with accurate, efficient processing. To this
end we either participate in or have initiated a number of strategies to increase productivity
and decrease processing time. Some of these include outsourcing, electronic theses and
dissertations (ETDs), cross-training activities, and electronic ordering and selection with
YBP Library Services.
