iLife Series
Introduction to Digital Video: iMovie '11
Description: This class is designed to help get
your project organized and prepared for editing by giving basic
information about storyboarding, copyright & fair use issues,
equipment reservations, and other pre-production details. In addition,
the class will provide an introduction to the iMovie '09 interface and
cover basic editing techniques for the new iMovie user, helping
you move from setting up your iMovie project to editing your footage
for a finished movie.
Course Format: 30 minutes of lecture followed by 30 minutes
for hands-on practice and questions.
Prerequisite: none.
Schedule: Spring 2012 courses will be offered by demand. If you have a group of 6 or more, we can schedule with your group. Individuals may choose to be added to a wait list. When we have 5-7 students interested, we'll schedule a time with you.

Description: This production class is designed
to introduce participants to GarageBand, Apple's music creation/recording
software.

Description: Web content creation is the topic
of this short course. It will cover site creation, setting up pages,
adding content to pages, and publishing pages.

Photoshop 1: Poster Concepts
Description: Welcome to the world of layout and
design! This real-world practical approach to Photoshop will demonstrate
how to pull many of the features and tools of this program together
to create finished projects such as ads, flyers, posters, etc.,
from start to finish.

Photoshop 2: Photo Touchup
Description: Have you recovered family treasures
that you want to restore? Is your attic full of old photos? In this
class, we will walk through the steps of scanning in an old picture
and working to restore it.
Course Format: This hour-long hands-on class will get you

Prerequisite: Basic Photoshop knowledge or have taken our
Photoshop 1 class or the OIT Photoshop class.

Photoshop 3: Photo Collage
Description: Interested in the artistic side of
Photoshop? Are you ready to make more complex image collages - as
realistic or surreal as you desire? We will help you learn to combine
images from multiple sources and teach you some techniques for blending
them effectively.

Introduction to Final Cut Pro 7
Description: Feeling limited by iMovie? Take your
movie-making skills to the next level and learn to use the tool
the pros use. This demonstration class will cover the basics of
Apple's professional-level editing software, Final Cut Pro. You
will learn to set up a project, capture clips, different types of
basic edits, working with the interface, and using the media manager.
Course Format: This hour-and-a-half-long class will be
a discussion and demonstration only. Although there is not a hands-on
section, attendees should gain a basic understanding of the software.
Prerequisite: Experience using iMovie or similar nonlinear
video editing software and knowledge of basic video editing concepts.
