The UT Libraries and the Library Friends are sponsoring more and more events, and we could use your help. Be a true friend of the UT Libraries: sign up to help out at library sponsored events. Help us celebrate the opening of the UT Libraries’ newly renovated “Commons” on February 7. Join us for a Street Fair (music, games, prizes), 2:30-4:30 pm, followed by a reception and tours especially for our Library Friends.
A March 14 event will celebrate the Library Friends’ annual gift to the UT Libraries. Botanist Ron Petersen will detail the significance of Deo Optimo Max, a rare 1725 work on plants of the Appalachian Mountains.
Retired UT botanist Alan S. Heilman donated his life’s work of color-film photographs of plants to the UT Libraries. To preserve the images, the Libraries digitized them and created an online collection.
