UT
Libraries is comprised of the John C. Hodges Main Library
and five branch libraries, including the Pendergrass Agricultural
and Veterinary Medicine Library. Ranked 27th among public research
libraries by the Association of Research Libraries, the libraries
supports over 26,000 graduate and undergraduate students in 400
academic programs. Their collections cover scientific and technological
disciplines including agriculture, biology, chemistry, computer
science, engineering, geology, mathematics, nursing, physics, and
veterinary medicine.
The
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is a world- renowned
research laboratory. The ORNL Research Library serves 6,000 staff
and guest researchers. The library’s highly-specialized collections
focus on nuclear technology, chemistry, physics, materials science,
computer science, mathematics, engineering, and the biological and
environmental sciences. ORNL is managed for the Department of Energy
by UT-Battelle, LLC.
The
Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI)
leads Department of Energy (DOE) government initiatives for distributing
research and development (R&D) information. OSTI’s mission is to
advance science and sustain technological creativity by making this
R&D information available to DOE researchers and the American people.
OSTI provides a number of virtual Web resources to make technical
reports, software, journal citations, and other scientific communication
available.
Information
International Associates (IIa) is a private company
that provides information technology solutions for the DOE, ORNL,
the Department of Defense, and other federal agencies. IIa provides
full-service IT infrastructure support, classified information systems,
telecommunications and network management, database administration,
and more. IIa also manages libraries and provides information support
for the US Air Force, NASA, and the Department of Labor.
