About Us

The Scholarly Communication department increases campus awareness of scholarly communication issues such as intellectual property, the economics of scholarly publishing, alternative publishing models, and increased access to scholarly resources. The department leads the development of the campus digital repository and a university-wide committee on scholarly communication. We engage faculty, students and administrators in the discussion of trends in academic publishing and emerging issues. With regional and national partners we are advocates for open access and financially sustainable models of scholarly communication. See 2008-2009 Goals and Annual Report.
