The IRIS catalog, which represents the holdings of the libraries of the University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Kentucky, has been expanded to include eleven more Southeastern research libraries. The catalog for this new cooperative venture is called KUDZU. The KUDZU catalog works like IRIS in that it allows users to search the holdings of all the member libraries simultaneously. Also, UT students, faculty and staff will be able to use the Interlibrary Loan form that is integrated into the catalog to request loans of books and other media held by the libraries. (Note: the Interlibrary Loan function of the KUDZU catalog is not intended for ordering of journal articles and other copies.) Expedited Interlibrary Loan delivery between the member libraries (with the exception of the Center for Research Libraries) is another important component of IRIS that is being extended to include all the KUDZU libraries.
