Library Express: Libraries Catalog Request Service

Library Express (LX) delivers books, bound periodicals and scanned copies from Hodges Library, Hoskins Storage, and Knoxville campus branch libraries. LX also retrieves books from departmental offices and returns them to the library. There is no charge for these book pickup and drop off services.

Need a copy of an article or book chapter? Use LX's Desktop Delivery Service.



Requesting Items from the Libraries Catalog

Use the Libraries Catalog to find then order what you want. Once you find your desired title, follow the Find Item link to determine the item's available (checked in or checked out). From here, click on Request to order campus delivery or library pickup.

Books and other 'loanables' will be delivered or ready for pick up within 2 days, Monday-Friday.

What if the item you want is checked out?

You may still Request checked out items but these will take longer to deliver. You'll have to wait at least 10 days for the desired item's return. Once returned, LX will deliver to your specified department or library pickup location. Note: It may take two weeks to fulfill these orders.

Items Not available from UT Libraries

Can't find the item in the Libraries Catalog? UT students, faculty, and staff may request Items that are not part of the UT Libraries' collections through Interlibrary Services.
