Content: This site is a bio-bibliography of authors who
have lived in Tennessee. To view the complete list of, click on
Author Index A-Z. From the original
working list of over 800 authors we selected around 340 to feature
more prominently. For these featured authors you will find a hyperlink
to a more detailed bio-bibliography. Any author's name that appears
in blue may be clicked to reach the more detailed record.
This site was designed to employ Javascript. Some older web browsers
may not be compatible with this technology. You will have better
success with this site if you use recent versions of Netscape or
Internet Explorer.
Criteria for Inclusion: We intent to privide information
about any writer who has made a significant contribution to Tennessee
literature:
- Author must have
lived at least part of her/his live in Tennessee.
- Author must have
published at least one book.
- Authors who have
written for an academic or professional audience will be excluded,
unless they have also written literary works for a general audience.
- Journalists will
also be excluded unless they have written literary works.
