To search your EndNote library:

1. Click on the Search Library icon located on the
    EndNote toolbar or select Search Reference located
    under References.

2. Type terms to be searched into the text box and select
    the fields to be searched in the first drop-down window.

3. Change the field marked Contains in the second
    dropdown window to search spans of years and to
    search for exact matches (use Is) or matches that
    contain your search as part of a term.

    e.g., using Contains and searching spec will find
    special and spectacle
