EndNote places
reference data (field codes) with each
formatted citation in your word document. This data
allows you to collaborate with other authors by producing a
traveling library.
If you want
to copy all of the references used in a Microsoft
Word document to an EndNote library:
1. From your open Word document, go to Tools - EndNote
and choose Export Traveling Library.
2. From
the Export Traveling Library pop-up, select an
existing EndNote library (browse to locate).
3. You
can also select a new EndNote library.
4. Name
and save the new library.
5. To
export a traveling library from EndNote, open both
your Word document and an EndNote library. In
EndNote, go to the Tools menu,
then Cite While You
Write, and choose Import Traveling Library.
Note: The Traveling
Library does not contain Notes, Abstracts, Images, or Captions.
