  • This trade magazine features articles, profiles, and news about the profession.

  • Center for Responsive Politics
  • This site provides a wealth of information on campaign finance and related topics. Focus is on the federal level, but there is some state level links. Noteworthy section is the registered lobbyist database. Also known as Open Secrets.Org.

  • Elections
  • A well organized site from Larry Romans at Vanderbilt University. Includes annotations with most links. Topics include political party sites, 2006 candidates, campaign finance, electoral college, media, polls, and much more.

  • Elections 2008 - The University of Michigan Documents Center
  • One of the most comprehensive collections of information on the 2008 elections.

  • Electronic Policy Network
  • Has timely information and ideas on national policy and politics. Topics include civil liberties, the economy, education, foreign policy, health care, social security.

  • Fairvote.org
  • Produced by the Center for Voting and Democracy, a non-profit group that conducts research, analysis, and education related to elections and democracy. Topics covered include voting rights, voter turnout, redistricting, pending legislation, and much more.

  • Federal Election Commission
  • The regulatory agency created to administer the statue that governs the financing of federal elections.

  • FirstGov: Voting and Elections
  • FirstGov is the official U.S. gateway to all government information. This section devoted to elections covers the electoral college, candidates, and background information on elections in general. A good site to link out to other webpages.

  • Google Directory - Campaigns & Elections
  • A comprehensive site that collects election information from around the world.

  • GPO Access Browse Topics - Voting and Elections
  • GPO disseminates official information from the Federal Government. This is their site on voting and elections.

  • Democracy Network
  • Sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Center for Government Studies. Users may use zip codes to find candidates. Includes links to public interest groups and political parties.

  • Politics1
  • Comprehensive site for American politics. Good links to major issues and political ideology sites. Presidential candidates as well as links to state level politics and candidates.

  • Public Agenda Online
  • Has 18 issue guides, which combine a news digest, background data and sources. Also has a section on the pitfalls of interpreting polls.

  • Yahoo! Elections
  • Another comprehensive collection of links to resources. Provides easy access to regional information.
