Collection Development Policy
The library newspaper collection supports research, the curriculum and provides provides current awareness for the university community. Newspapers reflect local, state, national, and international coverage. The content of the collection represents a variety of social, cultural,and international viewpoints and provides instructional and research support. Newspapers are acquired in all formats. Preference is given to papers having national reputations for outstanding journalism and which are commercially indexed. Newspapers representing various regions of the United States are also desirable. A representative selection of foreign newspapers is acquired. A permanent archive of local, some state, and selective national and international papers is maintained.
