The German Studies Web, affiliated with the Association of College and Research Libraries, is designed to provide access to scholarly resources in German Studies, including all German-speaking countries. The resources organized here have undergone a selection and evaluation process. If needed, annotations have been provided augmenting the research value of these resources to scholars. It contains contributions from German Studies bibliographers nationwide.
The Voice of the Shuttle(VOS) began in late 1994 as an introduction to the Web for humanists at the University of California, Santa Barbara. It becamce publically accessible in 1995. Voice of the Shuttle emphasizes both primary and secondary (or theoretical) resources, and defines its audience as people who have something to learn from a higher-education, professional approach to the humanities. A searh on VOS for "german" retrieves a list of categories and links on topics such as "General Resources in German Literature," "Foreign Language Dictionaries," "Medieval Germany," and "20th Century Germany."
