Associations and Government Sites

American Public Health Association
Centers for Disease Control
Provides information on diseases and health risks; international travel considerations and guidelines for the prevention of diseases, injuries, and disabilities.
Department of Health and Human Services
"The U.S. Government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services." A searchable database assists with finding subjects across multiple HHS sites.
Food and Drug Administration
Concerned with food, cosmetics, drugs, medical devices, radiation-emitting products, and food & drugs for animals.
National Institutes of Health
As "the Federal focal point for biomedical research in the U.S.," the NIH is a valuable source of health information for such topics as AIDS; cancer; diseases of the heart, lung,and blood; diabetes; and neurological disorders such as stroke and epilepsy.
