- American Public Health Association
- Centers for Disease Control
- Provides information on diseases and health risks; international travel considerations and guidelines for the prevention of diseases, injuries, and disabilities.
- Department of Health and Human Services
- "The U.S. Government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services." A searchable database assists with finding subjects across multiple HHS sites.
- Food and Drug Administration
- Concerned with food, cosmetics, drugs, medical devices, radiation-emitting products, and food & drugs for animals.
- National Institutes of Health
- As "the Federal focal point for biomedical research in the U.S.," the NIH is a valuable source of health information for such topics as AIDS; cancer; diseases of the heart, lung,and blood; diabetes; and neurological disorders such as stroke and epilepsy.
