Several of the nursing association web sites will present descriptions of careers in the specialty area represented, and it is a good idea to at least check that option.

- Tennessee Center for Nursing
- A non-profit organization focused on the nursing work force in the state of Tennessee. See links for careers, types of nurses, and nursing career profiles.

- Specialty Nursing Organizations
- An extensive list of organizations with links provided by Sigma Theta Tau, the Honor Society of Nursing. Also, check out the "Considering Nursing as a Career" page.
- American Nurses Association's Nursing World
- Provides credentialing information, links to affiliated organizations, nursing news, political awareness information, position statements, links to nursing listserv and newgroup resources, and much more.
- National League for Nursing
- Includes information about accreditation, membership, constituent leagues, testing services and tests, and meetings and workshops."
