National Geophysical Data Center
Provides scientific data describing the sea floor, solid earth, and solar-terrestrial environment, including Earth observations from space.

Federal Geospatial Data Clearinghouse Search Engine
A collection of over 250 spatial data servers that have digital geographic data primarily for use in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), image processing systems, and other modeling software.

National Geoscience Data Repository System
The National Directory of Geoscience Data Repositories is the report of a survey conducted by the American Geological Institute in 1996. Repositories holding geoscience data, particularly cores, cuttings, and paper records were surveyed and compiled into a report.

Collection of Elsevier full-text journals. UT has access to issues marked with a green icon. Includes Earth & Planetary Sciences backfiles.

Springer LINK - Available to UT faculty, staff, and students
Full-text journals and electronic books, including the series Lecture Notes in Earth Science from Springer. Select "Journals" for a list of titles available online.

Wiley Interscience - Available to UT faculty, staff, and students
Full-text of Wiley journals. Select "Journal Finder" to locate a specific journal title.

BioOne 2000 - Available to UT faculty, staff, and students

Geologic Atlas of the United States
The U.S. Geological Survey produced a series of maps folios between 1894 and 1945 entitled Geologic Atlas of the United States. Texas A&M is the home of the digital version.

NASA National Aeronautics and Space Administration

United States Geological Survey
Federal source for science about the Earth, its natural and living resources, natural hazards, and the environment.

NOAA National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Contains infomation about satellites, climate, the ocean, and research.



Professional Organizations

American Geological Institute
The American Geological Institute is a nonprofit federation of 43 geoscientific and professional associations that represents more than 100,000 geologists, geophysicists, and other earth scientists.

Geological Society of America
Established in 1888, The Geological Society of America provides access to elements that are essential to the professional growth of earth scientists at all levels of expertise and from all sectors: academic, government, business, and industry.

East Tennessee Geological Society
Largely made up of geologists and hydrogeologists, but also has members who are petroleum consultants, quarry geologists, gemologists, drilling contractors, professors, and students.

American Institute of Professional Geologists
AIPG represents the professional interests of all practicing geoscientists in every discipline. Its advocacy efforts are focused on the promotion of the role of geology and geologists in society.

Association for Women Geoscientists
The Association for Women Geoscientists exists to promote the professional development of its members, to provide geoscience outreach to girls, and to encourage women to become geoscientists.

Geoscience Information Society
The Geoscience Information Society facilitates the exchange of information in the geosciences through cooperation among scientists, librarians, editors, cartographers, educators, and information professionals.

Association of American State Geologists
An organization of the chief executives of the fifty states and Puerto Rico.
