Medline/Pubmed is a comprehensive medical and health sciences database appropriate for biomedical and industrial engineering. There is FindText linking the database to UT's subscriptions. The MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) Database allows you to select appropriate search terms. The tutorial shows:

Accessing Medline/Pubmed from the Databases menu

Searching with and without quotes for the phrase tissue engineering

Using AND to link chitosan with tissue engineering

Using the MeSH subject headings to narrow search results

Using FindText to find out if a journal is subscribed to by UT

Databases either contain electronic copies of journal, magazine, and newspaper articles, engineering standards or citations to these articles.

A citation describes the publication information of an article but does not give the full text. Example:

A good buy - The new Brooklyn bridge
Anon Source: Steel Times International, v 29, n 2, February/March, 2005, p 28+30

In the case of citations, you will need to click on the icon provided in the database to determine whether full text/print is available. Or if there is no FindText icon, you will need to look in the UT Libraries Catalog.
