The Student Art in the Library program began in 2005. The juried exhibition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. All 2-dimensional works will be considered. Two exhibits are held each year, in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The exhibitions are on view in the Reference room on the first floor of Hodges Library.
The artwork is selected by the Art in the Library Committee: Jennifer Beals (Chair), Anne Bridges, Wes Knott, and Roger Weaver. A student representative is invited to serve on the selections committee each semester.
Hodges Library serves as a center for learning and cultural enrichment for the University of Tennessee community. The exhibition area in the Reference Room creates an area of visual interest, encourages artistic appreciation and provides a venue for our students to display their artwork.
