Conservation Unit

Conservation provides physical treatment of library items.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review and selection of materials for conservation treatment or library binding
• Book Repair
• Mending and cleaning of documents and maps
• Encapsulation
• Construction of protective enclosures for fragile items
• Pamphlet binding
• Recovery materials damaged by water
• Environmental monitoring
