Exhibit and Film Series:
Working for Democracy in the South and Appalachia - The Highlander Research and Education Center
The University of Tennessee Libraries is hosting a documentary series and exhibit to teach the university and local communities about the Highlander Research and Education Center, as part of the Highlanders 75th anniversary.
The exhibit, on display in Hodges Library outside the reference room, was designed by Sarah Lowe, associate professor of art, and Paul Chinetti, a senior in graphic design. Six films about social justice in the South will also be shown throughout the fall, in the Documentaries in the Library series. The first documentary will be shown on September 18.

What should the role of religion be in America? Share your opinions with UT professors Robert Bast, Rosalind Hackett David Reidy, Charles Reynolds and Otis Stephens.
Constitution Day: Monday, September 17
11 am-4 pm: Sign Your Constitution!
Pedestrian Walkway outside Hodges
Take an opportunity to remember the foundations upon which this country was built by signing a copy of the Constitution.
1 pm-4pm: Film Series
A Conversation on the Constitution: Judicial Independence and Our Constitution: A Conversation, hosted by Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O’Connor, Stephen Breyer and Anthony Kennedy will be shown throughout the afternoon.

Mary Ann Russell of the UT Research Foundation will present UT Intellectual Property Policy and Copyright and Linda Phillips, University Libraries, will present How to Use Works When Teaching.
