UT/TBR Libraries' Reciprocal Borrowing Program
We now have a state-wide reciprocal borrowing
system open to students of any public two- or four-year institution.
You will be able to enter any participating
library and borrow books. The terms (how long you can check out
materials, how many books at a time, fines, etc.) will be determined
by the institution.
To get started, you need to:
- Be currently enrolled at UTK or employed
as a faculty or staff member at UTK
- Complete the registration form (available
through Distance Education Services, in addition to other spots)
and obtain a UT/TBR library borrower's card with an authorized
signature
- Present the card at the circulation desk
of the participating library for registration in their database
and for notification of borrowing policies
These conditions apply:
- There is no fee
- The borrowing regulations are determined
by each library
- You are respnsible for returning the materials
you check out
- Reimbursement is the individual's responsibility
to the library or, if defaulting on charges, to UTK Libraries
- Borrowing privileges expire on the date
set by the UTK Libraries, usually the end of the current semester
Please visit the TALC page to read more about the
participating libraries and their current policies.
If you decide that a card will be useful to you, the registration
form is available online.
We can also fax a copy of the form
to you if you have a fax machine available, or mail a copy of
the form to you if you don't want to use fax.
