ILLiad Tutorial for Distance Education Students
You are here: UT Libraries -> Distance Education -> ILLiad Tutorial

First Time Registration

Since he is a first time user of ILLiad, he will have to provide some of his information so that the system knows how to deliver things to him. After providing this information the first time, the system will no longer ask for it on subsequent logins.

In our example, Sam Wilson is registering to use ILLiad for the first time. Sam is a student at UT working on his graduate degree in psychology. This semester he's taking a Distance Education course at his home in Clarksville. Because he is a Distance Education student he is required to select the three "Distance Education" options on this page and he is also required to select the "Yes" option to have them sent to him via Electronic Delivery. That way he can just access them online and print them out at home. As a backup, he wants to give his sister Lucy permission to pick up materials for him as well, in case of emergency.

*Notes about registering:

  1. Please be sure to list an address at which someone is available during the day to provide a signature. You should not enter a P.O. Box either, since FedEx will not deliver except to street addresses.
  2. Be sure to choose all three registration options on this page where "Distance Education" is a choice.
  3. You must select "Yes" to the Electronic Delivery option on this page.
  4. Please note that if you have someone else sign for receiving your materials at your mailing address, you will still be held responsible for them.
  5. If someone else ever needs to pick up materials for you, you will need to telephone Interlibrary Services at (865) 974-4240 and explain the situation to the staff.
