Ever need help deciding a color scheme for a project? There are many sites and books that can help you. A new site still in beta testing that I've come across and like is dailycolorscheme.com.
Their color schemes come complete with hex, rgb, and hsb codes. You can download the schemes for photosop, illustrator, colorschemer studio, a css file, or an html file. Very simple to work with and convenient.

OIT's series of talks on games in higher education concludes this Friday,

Games in Higher Education
ITC and SunSITE will present the third in its series of talks on games and
game design in higher education this Friday, March 3, at 12:30pm. Chris
Swain from the Interactive Media Division at the University of Southern
California School of Cinema-Television will speak live via
videoconference on Play-centric Games Education. The event is free and
open to the public. PLEASE NOTE: THE TALK THIS WEEK WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE
UC AUDITORIUM.
The Electronic Arts Interactive Entertainment Program at the USC School of
Cinema-Television is a program that combines a broad liberal arts
background with specialization in the history, theory and practice of
creating games and interactive entertainment. The purpose of the program
is to develop critical thinkers and designers who can produce the next
generation of interactive entertainment. The program embodies the concept
of "play-centric design" which puts player experience at the heart of the
design process and teaches a system of prototyping, playtesting and
iterative design that has been proven in almost a decade of student work.
Chris Swain s a visiting professor and co-director of the EA Game
Innovation Lab at the USC School of Cinema. At USC he is interested in how
games - which are mathematical systems - work as dramatic systems.
Previously Chris was a founding member of game developer Spiderdance, Inc.
- a company focused on games for mass audiences. Prior to Spiderdance,
Chris was a founding member of R/GA Interactive, a premiere New York
design firm. At R/GA, he designed and produced over 150 interactive
products for clients that include: Disney, Activision, America Online,
Warner Brothers, the BBC, Children's Television Workshop, Discovery
Channel, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and PBS among many others. Chris has
served on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Television Arts &
Sciences (Emmys). He led the team that established the first Emmy for
"Excellence in Interactive Television" and he chairs the Academy's
Editorial Committee. In addition he serves on the Board of Advisors for
the American Film Institute's Enhanced Television Workshop. Chris is
co-author of the book "Game Design Workshop" which was published in 2004

CCMixter: Community Music Sharing
Creative Commons has launched an experimental web site called
CC Mixter - The remix family tree. This site reinvigorates the idea of the "remix," encouraging people to use, reuse, recycle, and share remixed music.
Could be a source of sound for your Recycled Video project!
From the site:
"This is a community music sharing site featuring songs licensed under Creative Commons, where you can listen to, sample, mash-up, or interact with music in whatever way you want. To get this project started, we've dedicated the space to WIRED Magazine's November 2004 Issue, which featured 16 songs on THE WIRED CD -- Rip. Mix. Sample. Mash. Share., all licensed under the Sampling Licenses. If you're into music, browse this site to hear the original WIRED tracks, or, the new songs that people have built from sampling them. If you're into sampling and mash-ups we have the full tracks and loops in a ready to mix format, and you can upload your version back into CC Mixter, for others to enjoy. You can also upload and remix your own creations here, apart from the WIRED contest currently underway."

iMovieFest.com
Another community/sharing site has launched around Apple's "digital lifestyle" apps. iMovieFest.com claims to be "an exclusive film community for Mac filmmakers... iMovieFest.com also gives you access to online movie galleries where you can rate/review movies you've seen, get exclusive tutorials, download free sound effects, participate in interactive forums, fun filmmaking contests and other goodies that will give you the tools and skills you need to make great movies!" Although you can know everything about iMovie (a mere software app) or Final Cut Pro for that matter, making great movies is another thing altogether. Having said that, Tarnation, made with iMovie and for 200 dollars, was a hit at Cannes.

Independent Media Centers and dadaIMC
The Creative Commons weblog reports on the use of dadaIMC, a content management tool that allows organizations to support an open publishing model with an infrastructure for ingesting and displaying new media content. It supports Creative Commons licenses and goes a step further by providing a license that explicitly signals the allowance of derivative uses. For an example, check out the Baltimore Independent Media Center.
