Film Movement Film Series
See International and independent films at the Libraries
Sample award-winning, first-run independent and international feature films unlikely to be screened elsewhere in Knoxville at the UT Libraries' Film Movement Series. Sixteen films will be shown in John C. Hodges Library Auditorium at 8 p.m. every Tuesday from August 30 to December 13. The film screenings are free and open to the public.
Although a few of the films are American-made, most hail from Europe, Australia, Africa, South America and Canada. Most have received accolades akin to Academy Awards in their home countries.
"The international flair of the Film Movement Series is an excellent opportunity to experience other cultures and styles of filmmaking," Media Services Librarian Troy Davis said.
The Film Movement Series is just one of the many ways the UT Libraries is broadening its film collection and developing programming centered on the expanding medium of film.
The UT Libraries and the UT Cinema Studies program worked with Film Movement to bring these first-run films to the library at the same time they are released in theaters. For film summaries, reviews, trailers, credits and schedules, visit the Film Movement Series Web site.

What Sound Does a Color Make
Eyebeam presents a new traveling exhibition organized by iCI featuring contemporary and historical artworks by an internationally diverse group of artists who explore the neurological phenomenon of synaesthesia, a blending of the senses. On view Tues-Sat, 12-6pm through July 16. REBOOT YOUR SENSES: Colors, Perception, Games and the Brain - a panel of synaesthesia experts will talk at Eyebeam on June 9 from 5:30-8:30pm.
