Open Access webcast, April 6

The University of Maryland (UMB) Health Sciences and Human Services
Library (HS/HSL) and the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Libraries are
co-hosting a Web cast to inform academic faculty, graduate students, and staff on publishing trends and explain new models likely to affect their professional communication and research.

25th Million Download from BioMed Central

BMC has recently passed a milestone – over 25 million articles published in BioMed Central’s journals have now been downloaded from the BioMed Central website. (At the time of going to press, the latest download total was 26,596,619.) BioMed Central was launched in May 2000 - less than five years ago.

Since BioMed Central launched its Open Access journals:
15,491 articles have been submitted
7,529 articles have been published
26,596,619 article downloads to date
1,279,070 article downloads in the last 30 days alone
